Discern for yourself, which one it is - Uko, or Ndok, Ibibio" ?

"To One and All Ibom/Ibibio Community,
Sometime time in December, my brother Kenneth Andy invited me to call into a teleconference and I did. Shortly after the conference began, it became clear to me that the content of the discussion did not appeal to me, and after asking a question to which I did not get a satisfactory answer I dropped out of the conference. I have since recieved emails and attachements regarding the formation of 'UKO IBIBIO' along with a communique issued, I believe, as a result of discussions at the said teleconference. I have since had discussions with my brother on this subject and I wish to state categorically that I am not a member of 'UKO IBIBIO', and ask that my name be dropped from all communications involving the said association.
While I have personal respect for all sons and daugthers of Ibibio who called into the teleconference, and I respect their right to freely associate, i have a philosophical and ideological disagreement with positions that some of them have taken in the past on issues affecting Ibibio people. I cannot, therefore, buy into those ideas.
 Edem Andy"

With brazen abandonment and gutso, they announced in the various Nigerian media;  (bought or owned  by their masters Godswill Obot Akpabio and Umanah Okon Umanah);  the formation of a supposedly Ibibio group with a name sounding similar to "Akwa Ibom Ade Okay" - with all the insecurities of deaths and kidnappings -  they chose an in-opportuned time and place  to name themselves "Uko Ibibio".

I am not opposed to their formation or existence. Every man or woman has  the fundamental right to found and/or to belong to any legal organization of his or her choice. I consider it a duty to my people, the Ibibio people,  to raise their awareness about "Uko Ibibio"; so that at the fullness of time, when Shakespeare's words - "The evils which men do,  live after them; the good is often interred with their bones"; begin to be fullfilled, again, in our lifetime,  in a time not far from now, Uko Ibibio will be rememberd for what it is - a political smokescreen for the inauspicious ambition of Umanah Okon Umanah and his underlings, and a group aimed at ccausing confusion  in its attempts  to marginalie other authentic Ibibio groups opposed to the attrocities committed under the present government, and  founded for the good welfare of our citizens!

 Mr. Edem Andy,
You have done well to dissassociate your name from the so-called Uko Ibibio group. And I thank you for the opportunity you have given to me to write about this group.

Many of our people know by now, that there are certain names which stand for treachery,  destruction, confusion, deceit, fraud,  and brazen lies;  in the political life of our state; and once such names are associated with any group, such a group becomes an  automatic non-starter -  a group founded on greed and on lies by  greedy and pathological liars. Any group founded on greed and lies, is associated with greed and lies; and  will dissolve in greed and lies. The fact that the group, Uko Ibibio, co-opted your name for its membership without your consent and/or permission, speaks volumes to the character of the men and women who lead that group. Many more may have been deceived by them.

Many of us had been told of the inside story of Uko Ibibio - it is not a representative group of the Ibibio people;  though it is founded and peopled by Ibibio persons - the same group of people leading Uko Ibibio group,  are the same  ones currently acting to intimidate,  victimize, cheat,  disposses, humiliate,   and destroy the Ibibio people  under Godswill Obot Akpabio. Many of the same so-called leaders of Uko Ibibio had been prevailed upon by Godswill Obot Akpabio and his thugs to do all in their power to destroy the indigenous  fora - Ibom Forum and Ibibio Nation yahoo groups and the authentic Ibibio group - Ibibio People's Union. The formation of UKO Ibibio therefore serves two purposes - political,  and the marginalizing of other  authentic Ibibio groups;  none of which the members of Uko Ibibio  will be able to actualize. Like the smoke-screen it is, Uko Ibibio founded on lies and jealousy and a determination to keep the Ibibio people under, politically;  and to corner what belongs to the Ibibio for a few untrutworthy  Ibibio individuals; will dissolve when the smoke from which it has been founded, clears.

Uko Ibibio is the political action committee for Umanah Okon Umanah's  inordinate and very corrupt  ambition to become governor of Akwa Ibom State, just as AIDN was for Godswill Obot Akpabio. Umanah Okon Umanah has been a permanent fixture in the governments formed in Akwa Ibom State since the retrun to civil rule; and yet the state of affairs under him and his cohorts have gone from bad to the the very worst, with abundant arranged political  deaths and kidnappings of mostly Ibibio people. How then,  can such a group claim to represent the very people whom they have sought to eliminate, politically?

Like their master, Umanah Okon Umanah, Uko Ibibio is interested in marginalizing the Ibibio people in order to corner the wealth of the Ibibio people for themselves.    Most of the names advertized for Uko Ibibio are tunovers from AIDN - and anyone who is anybody in Akwa Ibom State knows what and who AIDN stands for.

A similar group,  choir-mastered by Micheal Bush -  the Ibom Medallion Project -  for the same Umanah Okon Umanah, has surreptitiously stopped hibernating,  as evidenced by its silence after Micheal Bush met with questions upon questions on the suitability of Umanh Okon Umanah as governor; a man  reputed to be the most corrupt person, after Godswill Obot Akpabio; and who is still serving  in the current cultist infested government as the Secretary of government.  Many well-meaning citizens put up resistance by way of vehement  opposition to any call for the present inscurities - murders and kidnappings - to repeat or continue in any government. They are very suspicious that if Umanh Okon Umanah should,  by any strange miracle,  succeed in his ambition, the same things which are happening now, will happen then.  Uko Ibibio will expire when it is no longer fed from money out of the treasury of Akwa Ibom State;  and when its corrupt and wicked masters are behind bars!
