EXPOSED! HOW GOV. AKPABIO KILLS GRACE ANWANA

Thomas Thomas
The death of the immediate past Head of Civil Service, Elder Grace Anwana is no longer news; what is news now is the way she died and those behind her death. Global Concord had, over the weekend, unearthed the truth surrounding her death.
Our findings revealed that Grace Anwana was made the Head of Akwa Ibom State Civil Service against Civil Service rule. She was the number fourteenth on the ladder, but was appointed HOCS by Gov. Akpabio to spite the Ibibios. According to a Permanent Secretary who pleaded anonymity, Gov. Akpabio’s intention was to weaken the Ibibios who are the majority in the state that was why he appointed the Late Anwana instead of Dr.Val Attah who was next to Mr. Sunny Akpadiaha.
Mrs. Anwana played a very significant role in Akpabio’s first term and during his campaign by canvassing support for Akpabio in Oron nation with the hope that she would be treated fine when Akpabio is reelected.
But unfortunate for Mrs. Anwana, Gov. Akpabio turned her down as soon as he was sworn in. The problem started when the Governor realized that the late Elder of Methodist Church was gunning for a ministerial appointment without his knowledge. According to our source, “her clandestine move to be appointed a minister without Akpabio’s knowledge was a kicker to her problem.”
Though Mrs. Grace Anwana still had two years left for her in the Civil Service, but the Governor who had already made up his mind to install an Annang person as the Head of Civil Service, coupled with his revelation about her, had to instruct Etteakamba, a Permanent Secretary in Government House, to issue a sack letter to Mrs. Anwana, but this was delayed by Etteakamba; because of this Akpabio had to make the pronouncement at the Exco meeting hall without her knowledge when he opened the meeting with the introduction of new HOCS.
Our findings revealed that Mrs. Anwana died of shock. Her death is not unconnected to her unceremonious removal because she had heart problems. A source from the decease family told Global Concord that “the amiable lady had two years to go in the service. She worked extra hand to mobilize supports for the Governor in Oron and among Civil Servants. The Governor had earlier assured her that she would ‘carry on’ only to announced the appointment of her successor without the dead woman’s advance knowledge.
The source continues: “the woman did not even process her gratuity papers and so did not even collect her gratuity.”
Some youths in her community are disturbed that the Governor will now cry more than the bereaved, the same way he acted during the burial of the late Lady of songs, Christy Igbokwe.

  4. It's a shame that a state blessed with intellectuals and objective thinkers can produce a journal and journalist of this low pedigree. The vindictive intents and personal ego disposition of the board and management of this junk tabloid is very obvious. In its desperation to achieve these intents, the management couldn't recruit seasoned journalists (perhaps for financial handicap) or properly edit the contents of its publications. A vested journalist can write a negative report in a more credible and responsible manner.
Even a O' level holder knows that present tense is only used in present or habitual/continuous events. The title;"How Akpabio KILLS?...." is an assault to intellect and a pointer to the ridiculous image of Akwa Ibom produced tabloids.
Besides, that someone died from complications from hypertension due to ANY shock, is a medical possibility, but that this was rather depicted by Thomas in the defective title, to mislead simpletons, into believing that Akpabio really killed her, validates my claims above and, it's a diabolical attempt to disrespect and( unsuccessfully though) rubbish the person of the ever-achieving governor.
This PHD (Pull Him Down) syndrome might not be alien to Ibibio culture after all! So sad!
