Why Akpabio dumps Ibibio politicians

So many Ibibio politicians have been rendered redundant by Gov. Akpabio immediately after his swearing in on May 29, 2011. Our checks revealed that they are dumped by the governor because most of them collected money from him before supporting his second term bid.
Our findings also revealed that the reason why Gov. Akpabio referred to the Ibibios as “Pigs” during his campaign was not unconnected to the fact that politicians of Ibibio extraction in his campaign team demanded so much money from him before playing one or two roles in his campaign.
Global Concord can authoritatively report that Gov. Akpabio has dumped Prince Godwin Ntukudeh, who hitherto was used to divide Ibibio politicians and people. He was also paid to abuse Senator John James Akpanudoedehe and his family. But immediately after the election, he was dumped by the governor and his bid to become a Commissioner was thwarted.
The paper can report authoritatively that Prince Ntukudeh is now in the forefront in the fight to dethrone Gov. Akpabio as he has aligned with Engr. Frank Okon and other opposing forces. Recently, in Mbiaya Uruan, during P. J. Effiong’s installation as Family Head, Mr. Godwin Ntukudeh told the youths that “Akpabio is a Goner”, that the youth should not mind his actions and utterances during Akpabio’s campaign. He further stated that Akpabio’s Government has failed woefully, and assured of a change in a very short time.
A youth who confided in the paper said that Ntukudeh was a disgrace to the entire Ibibio race.
Our checks also revealed that Bishop Cletus Bassey has also been dumped by the Governor immediately after the April 26 Governorship election. Cletus Bassey who is more political than pastoral played some sponsored roles during Akpabio’s campaign. He was the one who anointed the Governor at Asan Ibibio, and was seen going about with him during the campaigns.
Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga was another key player in Akpabio’s reelection campaign. In fact, he was the Director General of Godswill/Nsima 2011 Governorship Campaign, and was drafted, despite his social standing, to abuse other Ibibio governorship contenders, yet, he was dumped immediately after Gov. Akpabio’s swearing in ceremony. He was tricked to believe that he would be nominated for ministerial appointment. But it was not certain as at the time of going to press if he has pitched his tent with Engr. Frank Okon.
Mr. Chris Abasi Eyo, a former Commissioner for Information must have regretted his actions by now. The Prince of Bakassi, who was at the forefront of Senator Udoedehe’s Governorship campaign, was asked to dump the former minister and declare for Akpabio and was promised an appointment in the State Executive Council. The paper can authoritatively reveal that apart from some largesse from Mrs. Alice Ekpenyong whom he worked to ensure her re-election to State House of Assembly, the Mbo-born politician has not received, and may not receive a kobo from Gov. Akpabio and the PDP.
Obong Bassey Inuaeyen played a role in Akpabio’s reelection. He was promised a senatorial ticket by the Ukana faction of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District PDP, and was later dumped after spending a fortune. Our findings showed that Mr. Inuaeyen is not carried along since then and has regretted his actions.
Mr. Enefiok Ekefre joined Gov. Akpabio’s campaign trend after losing ACN ticket for Uyo State Constituency to Mr. Edwin Joseph, Mr. Ekefre is at present a nobody in Uyo PDP circle as he is seen as a traitor and as personae non grata, and has since started a romance with Engr. Frank Okon.
